Curriculum
Elementary Japanese Class
Grammar | This 6-month course is designed to master the basis of Japanese grammar which is equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 3. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to communicate in Japanese for daily necessities. |
Kanji vocabulary | Using NILA’s original textbook, students will learn up to 300 Kanji words. |
Pronunciation | Students will learn and practice proper Japanese pronunciation by listening and recognizing the distinctive sound of Japanese language. |
Intermediate Japanese Class
Grammar | This course is designed to prepare students for JLPT Level 2. In addition to the materials on the main textbook, NILA’s original supplemental materials will be used to master necessary grammar and sentence patterns of Japanese language. |
Kanji vocabulary | To prepare for the advanced course, students will increase their Japanese vocabulary and learn the proper usage of Kanji. |
Pronunciation | Students will learn to explain matters by using short sentences. Students will learn to deliver a speech on daily topics in Japanese as well. |
Writing | An introductory course for essay writing in Japanese. Students will familiarize themselves with writing Japanese characters and sentences. |
Reading | Through descriptive texts and stories, students will practice reading in Japanese. Students will also be challenged their reading comprehensive skills on newspaper articles and other current articles. |
Listening | This course will prepare students to gather information from news broadcasting and other audio sources. Students will learn active listening skills that will benefit in students’ social life after graduating from NILA. |
Advanced Japanese Class
Grammar | The first 3 months of the course will prepare students for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) and JLPT. In the latter 3 months of the course, students will perfect their grammar skills by using advanced-level textbooks and other supplementary materials. |
Reading | Students will gain their reading comprehensive skills, including skimming technique,through essays and other complicated reading materials. |
Kanji vocabulary | Students will learn advanced Kanji characters and vocabularies equivalent level of
JLPT Level 1. |
Writing | This advanced writing class will prepare students to write essays and reports within a limited time, which will be required at higher educational institution. |
Listening | This course will prepare students to gather information from news broadcasting and other audio sources. Students will learn active listening skills that will benefit in students’ social life after graduating from NILA. |
Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, class time is 800 hours every year
Class time is divided into morning classes and afternoon classes.

The entrance to school time is fourth in a year. Learning periods are different. Depending on the entrance to school
time.
Our goal is "All students to go on to high school". We bring up improve your Japanese language ability which is
necessary for a study in higher education institutions.
